The term Egregore is derived from a Greek word meaning "to be aware of" or "to watch over". It can have a connotation of a spiritual influence, created by a group.
So how Egregore can be part of an important hidden key factor in our life?
When we think about a conceptual meaning of a word, we connect to it.
Let me take an example. If we are saying: “LOVE ” what is behind it and what happens?
You have been raised a certain way and your conceptual view of “Love” and your direct action to receive/understand, or saying/giving it to a loved one, or yourself is surrounded with many meanings. Your concept of Love even if it has common factors with mine and many others is also very specific with your own life. Odors, gestures, voices etc. that are part of your personal life.
So, if we all can put words or actions, sensations, feelings behind the word “Love”, we all have a general concept of it and a personal interaction with it.
It is how an egregore works. It is a general concept that is fed with individual meanings and nuances. You feed both at once and it could evolve in something very complex as well as very simple at once. You can define it with only one word and at the same time expand it with many nuances and feelings.
Egregore are linked to us and our perception of our world in a very specific time. Some of them can have opening to deeper levels and more complex interactions but to make it simple on this first approach I will stay with a general vision of it.
The fact that we are feeding the conceptual aspect of it and the way our world works, we are actively generating this energy that make it possible to connect. The fact that I am thinking of it and of course feeding both (the general level and my personal one) I define it more precisely every time I am connecting to it. At the same time through the collective aspect of it, you are also connecting to the general vision of this conceptual matter and connecting to others through their general vision. You also can connect with some that are very similar in their personal vison than yours.
Through time this energy is growing through all “groups/society evolution” in the conceptual aspect of it. Doing so, it becomes stronger and stronger. Definition of a concept will limit its impact at first, but in time will become more powerful because all levels that were not thought prior will be addressed.
So, if we say that Egregore can be influential of one specific vision of an individual or a group, in time if more people connect to it, more autonomous and unrelated to the initial group it becomes.
We connect to Egregore on regular basis, however if we do it intentionally the power and support we get from it, is based on human history. There are many ways to do it, but common ones are meditations, prayers, or other rituals. The fact to be aware and open to this spiritual source of information can be used more precisely.
